Panublix lands 3rd place in ‘She Loves Tech’ PH startup competition
Panublix was one of the four women-led startups that won in the Philippine edition of She Loves Tech, the world’s largest startup competition for women and technology.
Our sustainable sourcing platform for tropical yarns and weaves shared third place with courier operations management software Airship, just behind Bixie, a financial growth and literacy platform for women, in second place. Parlon, a beauty and wellness service and appointments platform, won the top spot of the contest held on October 14, 2021.
Based in Iloilo City, Panublix was among the top 10 finalists that faced the judging stage toward bagging the top prizes. Founder Noreen Marian Bautista and her team introduced Panublix as a sourcing platform connecting creatives with sustainable tropical textiles and artisan craft.
“Panublix is not just for women in tech but also for Filipino women in tech and the Philippines in general,” said Natasha Bautista, Head of Marketing Communications & Program Management at 917 Ventures, one of the judges.
The rest of the judging panel were composed of Katrina Chan, Executive Director of Ideaspace Foundation & QBO Innovation Hub, James Lette, Advisor & Former Executive Director, Manila Angels Investors Network (MAIN), Russel Pili, Chief Technology Transfer Officer at Department of Science and Technology, and Abid Zaidi, Chief Operating Officer, Microsoft Philippines.
As part of the Top 3 finishers, Panublix will be awarded with priority access for the She Loves Tech Fund and She Loves Tech Conference which hopes increase capital & market access for our Panublix Artisan Partners.
We are very thrilled and grateful for this opportunity from She Loves Tech—and we want you to be part of our journey as we create a sourcing technology and development program designed for rural artisans to be enterprise-ready for the digital economy.
Panublix has been and will always be true to its mission of connecting creatives with sustainable tropical textiles and artisan crafts so they can design a future that respects culture, humanity, and biodiversity (Kultura, Kapwa, at Kalikasan).
Currently we are doing groundwork for the PWEDE (Panublix Weaving Enterprise Digital Enabler) program. Pwede means “possible” in Filipino.
Aside from developing trusted relationships with artisans, the PWEDE program also aims to put data points to production capacity, costs, and even tracking ESG (environment, social, and governance) metrics like income per artisan and carbon footprint in the supply chain. This transparency will also give confidence for both designers and customers to visibly see the sustainable impact of their purchases.
